In line with its mission to support the treatment of MS, the Belgian Study Group for MS (BSGMS) would like to provide you with a response to some frequently asked questions regarding the current coronavirus issue.
Most importantly we adhere to the guidelines of our health authorities: https://www.info-coronavirus.be/nl/ or https://www.info-coronavirus.be/fr/, which are updated when necessary.
Currently, patients on immunomodulating treatments are advised to:
- continue MS treatments
- wash their hands regularly
- cover mouth and nose when sneezing or coughing
- avoid contact with people having respiratory diseases (e.g. coughing or sneezing)
- avoid shaking hands
- avoid badly ventilated places
Of course these general guidelines always need to be tailored to individual situations, which neurologists are well placed to evaluate.
